Liberty Statue

New York City

By Jenny Xun

[ 2000 ] New York in my mind has always been the most dynamic city. I have never ceased to like this city ever since landing my first sight on her.

The graduate school I attended sits in the middle of Long Island, which puts me one and a half hour driving away from Manhattan. Over the last a few years, I had the opportunities to head to downtown every now and then. Many other times when I was simply driving by, I would always admire her unbelievably crowded and splendid skylines, almost in awe. It is the best way to appreciate the grandness of New York, when your breath is just taken away by its glamour as a well-deserved world-class metropolis.

The city calmly boasts its deeply rooted culture and colorful humanity in everyday life: in the people rushing around on the streets, in those magnificent Broadway shows, and in the amazing metropolitan museums.

I picked a few moments and put them together here. It’ll always remain as a beautiful page in my memory.
