Graduation Day

The hardest part of doing PhD is not the research, it is that you have to be fully prepared to endure the depression when a few months' hard working leads to absolutely nothing; the loneliness when you spend most time in the lab; the exhaustness after 12 hours' running around every day doing thousands of chores... only very few times, when you're lucky, it could be rewarding. And I guess just that little hope is the glamour which draws most pre-doctors through the long dark tunnel. 

On May 18, 2000, after five years' stay at Stony Brook University as an organic chemistry major, here comes the pay day...
